ZHS Foundation offers Norwegian and Polish students educational grants to The Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where students can realize their full musical potential and gain an understanding of how to become socially responsible citizens of the world.
The founder, Ms. Elizabeth Groth Kolby combined her interest in media and performing arts with her years of experience in multinational training projects, and formed in 2018 private, non-profit ZHS Foundation in memory of her parents, Zofia and Henryk Szymanski.
Elizabeth Groth Kolby, MA in English Philology from Poznan University fostered her passion for the performing and media arts at the Secondary School, National Lyceum of Theatre Techniques, in Warsaw.
While living in New York City she furthered her education in Film Production by completing two and a half years of graduate study at the Film Department of The New School. Additionally Ms. Kolby attained a semester of education in Music Orientation at The Juilliard School Evening Division.
In addition to her earlier work in the Polish film industry, Ms. Kolby produced and directed in New York, “Royal Comfort Hotel”, an award winning short film.
Ms. Kolby has been the owner and president of the Norwegian company, Interconnect AS and its production subsidiary Polar Bear Productions. In this capacity she has administered projects of up to US $2,000,000.
Ms. Kolby supervises the administration of Zofia and Henryk Szymanski Foundation from Norway, where she resides.
